Visual artist, programmer with anthropological background, he designs multimedia installations and 3D sculptures, also performs live in audiovisual performances. His main tool is light. In his works he explores narrative techniques. The esthetic of his pictures look like landscapes from dreams, in which fiction and reality meet, well-known clues combine, change meanings, connects past and present. Time and memory always play a key role.
He graduated from the Utrecht School of the Arts. His installation “The Lonely City” won the Best Off Jury and Audience Award HKU2009. Co-founder of the Lichtdichters collectives, MAU and member of the Born Digital team.
Currently, Daan lives and works between Italy and the Netherlands and works on his own projects, willingly establishes creative cooperation with other artists.
