The Ars Electronica Animation Festival has been a mainstay of the September Ars Electronica Festival program since 2005. The program includes a wide range of shows and various events related to animation. In 2018, about 80 works were selected from among 1007 submissions to Prix Ars Electronica in the Computer Animation category. Selected works were arranged into thematic blocks, that provide a representative overview of what’s happening now in the digital motion picture genre worldwide; at the same time, each individual lineup manifests specific strategies and unique points of view.
